Fred Tate's Lies

A Note from Armin Refuting Fred's Lies

Fred Tate is intentionally misleading voters with claims that not even he believes in. When you deliver real conservative results as I have, your opponents don’t debate your record—they distort it.

As an example, he claims that I was some “Democrat “aide. The truth: about 20 years ago, while I was a college student, I participated in a bipartisan internship, spending a summer interning for both a Democrat and a Republican. That college internship didn’t define me—my conservative record does.

He’s also attacked my community, the City of Keller, by falsely claiming that we support so-called “woke books” in the Keller public library. Here are the facts: just like in your city, the Mayor and City Council do not purchase the more than 81,000 books in circulation. That is a job left to professional librarians and clerks. What we did do however, years ago, we not only removed inappropriate books back then, but we also adopted a policy that empowers citizens to challenge any book, triggering a citizen-led review committee. That citizen led committee determines whether a book belongs in circulation or should be moved to an age-appropriate section. That isn’t “woke” – it’s the right conservative policy that empowers families and community standards long after I am Mayor.

And lastly, he has attacked my Christian faith. This is especially disgraceful given that he knows my family and I attend Sunday mass right in the very same city that Fred lives in. I was the first mayor in the country to ban Sharia Law and Sharia courts—yet he has sunk so low as to suggest that because of my name, I am somehow tied to Islamic terrorism. Yes, you heard that right.

Unfortunately, Fred Tate has shown us who he is. He began his campaign in the mud, and he is going to end his campaign in the mud.

Reject Fred Tate and his fake news. Send the Austin special interests who are funding his campaign a message: that No matter how hard they try, this seat will never belong to them. And it will never belong to the power players or establishment insiders who think they can manipulate our elections. It belongs to the people of House District 98—and it will never be for sale.
